Best of 2016
« on: December 19, 2016, 03:18:20 PM »
As in order as I can get them, but I am pretty conflicted, so they could easily be juggled somewhat.

Tohpati Ethnomission - Mata Hati
Francisco Fattoruso - Khronos
Kiyo*Sen - Trick or Treat
Indro Hardjodikoro - Get Closer
Antoine Fafard - Sphere
Yiorgos Fakanas - Acrobat
Hiromi - Spark
Into the Night - s/t
Dewa Budjana - Zentuary
Beledo - Dreamland Mechanism
The 4 Korners - Portal of Gold
The Funky Knuckles - New Birth
Etienne Mbappe and the New Prophets - How Near How Far
Marutyri - Inner Movements
Dam'nco - From Paris With Love

Yours?

I'm behind too, but I just placed orders for T4K and Fafard. Tohpati and Dewa are on my must buy list. I'm just listening to T4K wav's and they sound great.

Here's my list in alphabetical order:

Beledo - Dreamland Mechanism
Brand X - Live from Stockholm
Dewa Budjana - Zentuary
Billy Cobham - Live from Hofstra Playhouse 1976
Larry Coryell and the Eleventh House - The Funky Waltz Boston 1973
Antoine Fafard - Sphere
Flying Machines - s/t
Gerald Gradwohl - Raw
Allen Hinds - Fly South
Percy Jones - Mj12
B D Lenz - Manifesto
B D Lenz - Live in the UK
Hedvig Mollestad Trio - Black Stabat Mater
Hedvig Mollestad Trio - Evil in Oslo
Jeff Richman - Sizzle
Tommy Smith - New Jacobite
Steps Ahead - Steppin' Out

The new 4 Korners will probably be on the list as well as the new Tohpati when I hear it.

My personal favourite is Zentury with Flying Machines the runner up.

Yes that is a problem! It helps to know that the band leader is Alex Munk. This link will take you there:

Thanks.  :)

I have just ordered it even though shipping a CD to England costs almost as much as the CD - $12.75!

Yes I know I could have got the download but I still prefer physical products much to the amusement of my son.

I do too...until you come across a price tag like that. Ouch! Hope it comes with lube!  ;)   I balked at the $7.50  The 4 Korners originally had up on their label page. I messaged them, and they pushed me to the bandcamp, where, magically, it could be shipped for $3. I've never paid more than $5.

You may have been better off buying the Indonesian version from the parent label, demajors. I have a friend in Croatia who bought the Indro cds from there a few months back. Although the shipping was $6 per disc, the cds themselves were only $5 apiece! He said they arrived quickly and well packaged. Sorry I didn't remember that before I posted the Moonjune link. Habit, always favoring the domestic(for me) option I guess
