Fusion Discussion / John McLaughlin, Jimmy Herring Tour

I picked up three tickets Friday at 10am, when they went on sale, for December 8 at Warfield Theater in San Francisco.
Two lucky members of this forum are attending with me. I'm very excited, of course. They will be doing separate sets with
their own bands, then a set together, playing some MO material!
I'm upset that I bought tickets when they went on sale and got Loge tickets. You can get tickets in the orchestra if you want to
pay between $200-$400 from a re seller, depending on how close you want to be. Disgusting!

He's touring with his Atlantic years band. How excited am I? Damn excited! Tickets go on sale this Friday 10am for the show in San Francisco
at Regency Ballroom on June 4. Tickets are from $29 to $54. Got to get the best ticket and sit with a huge smile on my face up front!

It sounds like Gambale, Donati and Fierabracci are really enjoying themselves.

This is exactly what I was thinking today while listening to them.  :)

I really should give those GHS albums another chance. They are good but for some reason I haven't really listened to them lately.

I love those GHS albums. The Live in Australia mentioned here is great as well. It didn't kill me at first. Now I love it.

Corea-McLaughlin-Wooten-White - Blue Note N.Y. 12/11/16

Same here. Is it just me, or does John not sound good here. Pretty sloppy, and missing lines. The tone isn't the greatest either.

That is a shame and a half!

Jean-Luc Ponty Enigmatic Ocean
RIP Allan Zavod

Really? When? How? He was always one of my very favorites. Pity he didn't do a whole lot more that crossed my radar, beyond Ponty.

November 29. Brain Cancer. Terrible loss. Saw him with Ponty a bunch of times.

Rachel Flowers- Listen. It says it on the front and back covers, so I was compelled to do it. An auspicious debut. She plays all the instruments, of course. Keyboard heavy, as that is her first instrument among many. One fine guitar solo. I'm very excited to see what the future brings for her. I hope to hear her at NAMM and say hello.

Vinyl is a great format! I still have all my records from decades past. I lived through the time of 8 tracks, but proudly never
owned one.

I still have all mine from the 60's on up. Even my Beatles and Chipmunks.

Excellent. I have my records and someone else's collection given to me.

Scott Jones Remember
This guy is great, but I wish he would use a real band instead of computers.

He's eeking a living out of playing and teaching music. He's on FB regularly.
He's also got two kids he sees part of the week, one is developmentally disabled.
Great musician and individual.

Well, surprise surprise. Here come the rest of the tracks...

I wonder if the outcry finally kicked Allan in the rear to get this finished?

I know. Amazing! Looking forward to finally getting the tracks after all this time.

At this point, I look at it as a donation for whatever Allan's needs are.
