Fusion Discussion / Re: What fusion lp/cd you listening to today?

There were some seats, but I sure didn't get one. By the end of the McLaughlin tribute set, my back was killing me. Sucks to be old!

I was in the back watching the Eagles beat the Giants. That loss was the reason the Packers got in the playoffs and made it to the super bowl.

Abstract Logix Live! - 2010 New Music Universe Festival.

I wish they had offered full sets from this festival for purchase. There was so much good music on offer.

Other than being a stand up festival we had a good time there.

Bill Evans - Petite Blonde

I remember finding that one for a friend at Best Buy. When they first opened they had a lot of really good cds.

It was an Audiophile purchase for me back in the day. I just saw a Chambers interview where he names that as his favorite cd of his playing ever.

A couple of us are going over a friend's Saturday to watch and listen to music. Dennis came over the time before last and I was too tired to go. He said he might give Dennis a call and see if he wants to come over again. He said he stayed until 1 AM last time. If I think of it and he's there I'll ask him if it's still his favorite.

Carl Hupp Project Live at Orion

I was talking with Carl the other week and he has a new cd that was supposed to be out this month. It's nothing like his first one. It is only him on the disc and he said it is like space rock. When I get a copy I'll let you know how it is.

 :(

They should have kept the page going and saved the money for every other musician who doesn't plan on ever dying.

Robert Baglione Positive Charge
From the series "Whatever happened to...".

Speaking of, Kick the Cat are allegedly, finally headed back into the studio, with their original drummer.

I'll have to ask Ernie from Bad Dog U. I hope to finally meet him next month. He's gonna try and get me and my wife into the Lt. Dan Band show at Ft. Meade in May.

Bob Holz - Visions & Friends

Too many bland tracks for me.

I listened to about half. Nice playing but could be smooth fusion or after dinner music.

Mr. Fusion and I saw the Randy Brecker super group at Berks Jazz/fest today in Reading Pa. They were Randy with Dean Brown, Bill Evans, Tom Kennedy and Keith Carlock. Dean subbed for Mike Stern who is recovering from another surgery in March from his fall which messed up both his shoulders. Hopefully this one will help with the feeling in his hands. The show was killer and they played songs from each member as well as one from Stern. Tom Kennedy is a monster on bass.
